 “The Tenant Farmers Association of England and Wales (TFA) is active in its opposition to the further development of solar farms that will remove good agricultural land from the farm sector and also displace tenant farmers. Such developments are contrary to public policy on meeting our food security and food self-sufficiency targets as a nation. Additionally, if accepted, such developments would involve the loss of land from the tenanted sector of agriculture which would be contrary to the Government's policy of seeking to ensure that we at least maintain the tenanted sector at its current level to assist with new entrants, progressing and developing farmers. Those farm tenants will also suffer the loss of their businesses having a huge impact on their personal circumstances which must be taken into consideration when dealing with proposed solar schemes."
